How To Make Alaskan King Crab Legs With Clarified Butter

There is nothing better than the taste of sweet, succulent king crab meat! And it's surprisingly easy to cook. And very QUICK, because King Crab legs are already cooked when you purchase them. I purchased mine at Sam's Club (they were frozen) King crab legs are cooked on the fishing boats or immediately upon landfall to preserve freshness (the crab is caught, cooked, then blast frozen to preserve its fresh taste). Because of this, King Crab simply needs to only be heated before eating. Remember, that unless you have purchased a live king crab, the king crab legs have already been cooked. It is recommended that crab legs thaw overnight in your refrigerator. If you are in a big hurry, king crab can be thawed under cold running water to speed this up. If you place them on a rack in a watertight container, they can drain as they are defrosting.
Simply place the defrosted legsin shallow baking pan. Add just enough hot water to fill pan 1/8 inch deep. Cover tightly with aluminum foil. Bake at 350 degrees F. until just heated through, approximately 7 to 10 minutes. And that's it! Just make some clarified butter for dipping and add some vegetables and you have an amazing meal.
How to make clarified butter (or "drawn butter")
Place the butter in a heavy saucepan and melt slowly over low heat. Remove the pan from the heat and let stand for 5 minutes. Skim the foam from the top, and slowly pour into a container, discarding the milky solids in the bottom of pan.
